Near Darwin is the famous „Kakadu National Parc“, which does not show impressiv waterfalls at the moment because the wet season was to dry. We get the suggestion better to go to the „to swimm. The Lichtfiled is much more closer to Darwin and optimal to go for a day tour – approximitly 380 km both ways together, so „just around the corner“ as the Aussies say. 🙂
The „Aviation Heritage Center“ in Darwin is it worth to visit it. The story of the bombing of Darwin at the 19. February 2019 is explained and gives the explanation for all the historical signs and markers of the 2nd World War (WW II) around Darwin (300 – 400 km radius). And it is a good heritage display of planes of the 20th century.
To see some salties, it would be possible to visit the „Crocodylusparc“ at Darwin but this parc seams to us very unfriendly with a bad cleanness and the people of the parc do have an frustrated attitude. It‘s better to go to the “Territory Wildlife Parc“, 50 km off Darwin.
Next leasure for Friday and Saturday night is the amazing „Speedway“. The mud race is allways on a safe and very good maintained sand circle. It‘s easy to have the overview and the races are in all classes from AMCA Nationals, Chariots of Thunder, Forumula 500s, Junior Sedans, Speedway Karts, Sprintcars, Street Stocks and Wingless Sprints, short and very exiting. To get some dust on you is also a must during such a race. 🙂
